Amy Chu a.k.a. Camoot is a comic artist and writer based in Boston.
Amy is interested in the dreams and anxieties of people in their twenties. As young adults battle small existential crises and big feelings, her work turns to humor, literature, and artmaking for advice. Amy's comics, essays, and artwork appear in Flaming Hydra, Electric Literature, and Slant'd Magazine. She was a 2024 St. Nell's Humor Writing Resident, a 2024 Massachusetts Independent Comics Exhibition (MICE) Mini-Grant Recipient, and a 2025 Rat City Artist. Amy was the screenwriter, co-producer, and production designer for an independent short film titled Introducing Mimi, which premiered in film festivals such as DisOrient, Houston AAPI Film Festival, and the Astoria Film Festival. What is a Camoot? It could be a stand-up routine about a situationship, growing up alongside a girl band, or a dream trip with your uncle, but hopefully, whatever it is makes you laugh. |
