Amy Chu a.k.a. Camoot is a writer and cartoonist based in Boston.
Amy is interested in the dreams and anxieties of people in their twenties. As young adults battle small existential crises and big feelings, her work turns to humor, literature, and artmaking for advice. Amy's comics, essays, and illustrations appear in Flaming Hydra, Electric Literature, and Slant'd Magazine. She was a 2026 Dunamis Emerging Artist Fellow, a 2024 St. Nell's Humor Writing Resident, and a 2024 Massachusetts Independent Comics Exhibition (MICE) Mini-Grant Recipient. Amy was the screenwriter, co-producer, and production designer for an independent short film titled Introducing Mimi, which won Best Live Action Short Film at the Boston International Kids Film Festival. What is a Camoot? It could be a stand-up routine about a situationship, growing up alongside a girl band, or a dream trip with your uncle, but hopefully, whatever it is makes you laugh. |
